Mehet próbára - Ready to fit - Motif No. 23

A jelmez próbára készen:
Costume is ready for fitting:
A szép arany fonálon felbuzdulva elkezdtem az arany csipkét elkészíteni, de a szál folyton elszakadt és összegabalyodott.
I was very exited about my golden thread, but the result is disappointing. This thread is awful. Tearing  and clumping.
De azért megterveztem egy mintát, amit majd rádolgozhatok a ruhára. Csak még nem tudom, hogy milyen arany szál alkalmas a hajócsipkézésre. Ha valakinek van ötlete, kérem szóljon!!!!
I have designed the edging motif ( actually it is my No. 23 motif ), but I don't know, what sort of thread I will  use. Anybody an idea?

  1. It will look great! I love your drawing of it on the previous post.

  2. That is the problem with some of the thread that has gold through it. I have used in the past two threads together using a stronger gold sewing thread with a plain thread, but again you have to be careful which one you choose. Instead of gold you could use a rust colour to match the costume bodice.

  3. How disappointing the gold thread doesn't tat well! I have used a finer gold thread mixed with a variable thread. The shine and shimmer show, but it is a more subtle effect.

  4. The gold thread not working is a disappointment, but you could always use it for couched thread embroidery. As for tatting, your creativity is only slowed down by this small setback, I am sure.

    Your new edging is terrific!
